UPDATE 19 October 2015 :

The Maldivian Democracy Network has alerted UN Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights Defenders regarding appalling human rights situation in the country.

This communication includes criticism of legislative measures that stymie work of human rights defenders, as well as highlighting threats to individual human rights defenders such as journalists, lawyers, politicians and Human Rights Commissioners.
